Description

The National Testing Agency (NTA), on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC), has opened the online application process for the UGC NET December 2026 examination. Eligible candidates can submit the UGC NET December 2026 Application Form through the official examination website. The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) is conducted to determine candidates' eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as Assistant Professor, eligibility for Assistant Professor along with admission to Ph.D., and admission to Ph.D. only, according to the applicable qualification category. As per the official notification, the UGC NET December 2026 application window is open from 08 October 2026 to 28 October 2026. Candidates who miss the regular deadline can submit the form with a late fee during the notified period from 29 October to 31 October 2026. The correction window is scheduled for 02 November to 04 November 2026. The examination will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode for 87 subjects from 14 December to 19 December 2026. Eligibility

UGC NET December 2026 Educational Qualification 1. General / Unreserved / General-EWS candidates must have secured at least 55% marks in a Master's degree or equivalent examination from a recognized university or institution. 2. OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD/PwBD and Third Gender candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in their Master's degree or equivalent qualification. 3. Candidates pursuing their Master's degree or awaiting final-year results may apply provisionally, subject to the conditions and deadlines mentioned in the official information bulletin. 4. Candidates with a four-year/eight-semester bachelor's degree may also be eligible under the prescribed rules. The minimum marks requirement is generally 75%, with applicable relaxations for eligible categories. Age Limit - Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): Maximum 30 years as on 01 December 2026, subject to applicable age relaxation. - Assistant Professor: No upper age limit. - Admission to Ph.D.: No upper age limit.
