Description

India Post GDS Recruitment 2026 notification has been released for Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Online Engagement Schedule-II, July 2026. The Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, has opened the recruitment process for Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) and Dak Sevak posts across different postal Circles and Divisions in India. Post office recruitment 2026- The current recruitment cycle is being conducted under Notification No. 17-12/2026-GDS. The One-Time Registration (OTR) process will begin on 31 August 2026, while candidates can submit their online applications from 02 September 2026. The last date for submitting the application and applicable fee is 21 September 2026 at 5:00 PM. A correction window will also be available from 23 September to 24 September 2026. This is a major opportunity for candidates who have completed Class 10th and are looking for India Post government-sector engagement opportunities without a conventional competitive written examination. Selection is based on a system-generated merit list prepared using Class 10 marks, followed by document verification and other prescribed formalities. Candidates should carefully check the Circle/Division-wise vacancy position, local language requirement, age criteria and post preferences before submitting the application

Eligibility

Educational Qualification Candidates should have passed the 10th Standard / Secondary School Examination from a recognized board. Candidates must have passing marks in: Mathematics English The candidate must also have studied the prescribed local language of the selected postal Circle up to Class 10th. Other Requirements Candidates should have: Basic computer knowledge Knowledge/ability to ride a bicycle, wherever prescribed Candidates must satisfy the post-specific conditions mentioned in the official notification. Age Limit Minimum Age: 18 Years Maximum Age: 40 Years Age will be calculated as on the last date of application submission, 21 September 2026. Applicable relaxation will be provided according to government rules.

Upload the required photograph, signature and documents. 7. Pay the applicable application fee, if required. 8. Review all entered information carefully. 9.
